Today we celebrate two anniversaries. 25 years ago, Ryne Sandberg hit two game-tying homeruns against Bruce Sutter in the ninth and tenth innings at Wrigley Field in what is now known as "The Sandberg Game." Eight years ago, my wife and I became husband and wife. Two great events to celebrate today. Happy Anniversary to the wife and to Ryno!
I just received five new tickets/stubs from games in which Sandberg hit at least one home run. Thanks to James from Pennsylvania for the deal.
1985-September-14 Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals Full Ticket | Season #23, Career #57
1986-June-2 Chicago Cubs at Cincinnati Reds Ticket Stub | Season #6, Career #66
1986-August-9 Chicago Cubs vs. Philadelphia Phillies Ticket Stub | Season #13, Career #73
1988-May-30 Chicago Cubs vs. Cincinnati Reds Ticket Stub | Season #6, Career #96
1988-September-2 Chicago Cubs vs. Cincinnati Reds Full Ticket | Season #16, Career #106

The last one is my favorite thus far. Not only is it a full ticket, but it's also from one of the two games in which Sandberg hit a home run on my birthday (the other being in 1991).
I've come across a couple of worthy-to-follow blogs the last few days. They both have to do with card collecting and the Chicago Cubs in one way or another.
The first is titled Hall of Fame Cards. The blog is owned by Jeremy Roe, an attorney in the Chicago area. I came across his blog via a Google search for 2009 Ryne Sandberg cards. He is a fellow Sandberg collector, but he collects other players as well.
The second blog is Wrigley Wax, which is run by Paul Kosman. He focuses on vintage cards as well as modern cards. It's interesting to read about some of the Cubs before my time. His latest post brings us back to the 1989 comeback win versus the Astros in which the Cubs won 10-9 in extra innings after trailing at one point 9-0. 1989 was the first full season I followed baseball, and this game is one of many I will always remember during that season.
I'm always interested in reading about other collectors' stories. If you know of any more good reads, let me know.
After a long journey, I have finally reached 1000+ Beckett Listed cards. Time to start counting down to 2000. :)
I think this is a cool looking set. I just received the final one with Ryne Sandberg. He is shown with Bill Mazeroski, Dan Uggla, and Chase Utley - star second basemen from then and now.

After many, many months of keeping the site on my personal server, I have finally launched the website.
Basically, I created the site to show off my collection and as a way to dedicate my fanhood to my favorite player, Ryne Sandberg. Take a look around, and let me know what you think. Enjoy your visit.
