Ryne Sandberg has been named the manager of the Iowa Cubs for 2010, replacing Bobby Dickerson. This is yet another step for Ryno on his way to a gig in the big leagues. This also means he is within driving distance of me. I may have to make a trip to watch him manage.
Check that - after looking at the schedule, I will definitely make a trip to watch him manage.

Just another year and he might be managing at Wrigley. During his playing days, I never pegged him as a manager. Does he argue with umps?

Charley, It looks like a real possibility that he will be on the bench at Wrigley in 2011. As a player he was only ejected once, and that ejection may have been unnecessary. As a manager, on the other hand, he has been ejected nearly 20 times during his three years. I don't think he's afraid to get in the ump's face.
